Hey everyone! 👋
This is my first ever blog post on this site — and fittingly, it’s about the process of making this site.
Setting up the tech stack has been both a joy and a bit of a headache at times. Some parts were surprisingly smooth, others… not so much. One of the bigger pain points has been dealing with CMS systems — especially routing everything properly through Netlify. It turns out that getting things like Decap CMS to play nicely with GitHub isn’t always straightforward. After some trial and error (and a fair amount of googling), I managed to create a workaround that finally made it all sync up the way I wanted.
Despite the bumps, I’ve really enjoyed seeing everything come together. There’s something satisfying about building your own setup and watching it actually work — even if it takes a few detours to get there.
As for the Projects page — that’s still a work in progress. It’ll get more improvements soon, but for now, if you’re curious about what I’m working on, feel free to check out my Github that is linked in the nav bar :)
That said, I’m not super active on GitHub these days, since I’ve started self-hosting my own Gitea instance for some of my larger projects. Those will eventually get their own space here once the Projects section is more fleshed out.
So yeah — this post is part reflection, part tech rant, and part “hello world.”
Thanks for stopping by, and I’m excited to keep building (and breaking) things here.
